In 2012, “Pavitra Ekadasi” falls on the 29th July, Sunday. The mahurat for offering “Pavitra” for ShreeNathji this year is early morning, 6.05 – 7.33 am. We go to the two ShreeNathji Haveli close by and have some divine darshans of Shreeji being offered “Pavitra”. Here the Presence of Dear Shreeji is total at His Haveli, as He gives us divine darshans of His natkhat Plays!

I feel very lucky, as my birthday also falls on this very auspicious day; which was 16th August 1956, Shravan Shukla Giyaras, in the afternoon at 1.03 pm, at the Abhijit mahurat. Every birthday on “Pavitra Ekadasi”, Gurushree changes my sankalp thread also, after completing his offering for Shreeji “Pavitra”, in his office and home.

Today again we are graced with the  Presence of my Dear Mahagurushree, Divine ShreeNathji on this occasion as He tells me, “Tum kitni naseeb wali ho ki har saal, aaj tumhara janmdin hai, aur tumhara sankalp thread bhi badla jata hai, mere “Pavitra” ki tarah!” (He also calls me His ‘best friend’- you can read further details here :
http://abhashahra.wordpress.com/about/
)

Today we have also updated the ShreeNathji Application for the Bhog Darshans:

http://www.shreenathjibhakti.org/m/index.htm

Shravan Shukla Giyaras, or “Pavitra Ekadasi”, is a very auspicious day for all Vaishnavites and Pushti maarg followers. This day comes once every year, when ShreeNathji is offered a ‘Pavitra’ (a reshmi or cotton thread). Today is the day when Shreeji accepts this offering from all His bhakts everywhere. This ‘offering’ darshan can be had in Shreeji Haveli’s all over the world. The bhakts who have personal sewa in their homes also change the “Pavitra” for their ShreeNathji Swarup or Chavi.

This day is important for bhakts, as today is the day when Shri Vallabhacharya received Brahm sambandh from Shree Krishn – ShreeNathji, Himself.

Nearly 520 years ago, on Vikram Samvat 1549,AD 1492, Shravan Shukla Giyaras, Shree Krishn Himself Appeared in the Form of ShreeNathji before Shri Vallabhacharya. He told Shri Vallabhacharya to initiate people in the ways of total surrender and sewa, through Brahm sambandh. Thakurjee promised Shri Vallabhacharya He would accept the sewa of all the devotees who were initiated with the Brahm sambandh. Shree Krishn gave him the Mantra for initiation on this day.

Shri Mahaprabhuji then garlanded ShreeNathji with a “Pavitra” (cotton thread garland) and offered Him some misri (crystals of sugar). After this divine meeting ShreeNathji disappeared. Shri Mahaprabhuji composed “Shri Madhurashtakam” praising the form and beauty of Shree Krishn the way He appeared before him.

Shri DamodarDas Harsaniji was the first vaishnav to be initiated into Pushti Bhakti marg by receiving Brahm-Sambandh from Shri MahaPrabhuji.

This occasion is celebrated as Pavitra Ekadashi. It is also known as the day of the Birth of Pushti marg – The path of Grace and Bhakti.

JAI SHREEJI!!

Shreenathji Mangla

ShreeNathji-Mangala Darshans

I am recounting my two very special days at Nathdwara, when something very special and miraculous happened. These two very auspicious days were:

13 June 2008 – Ganga Dassera – Jyesth Sud Dasam; Chitra Nakshatra; Kanya Rashi (till
14.24) then Tula Rashi

14 June 2008 – Nirjala Ekadasi; Bhim Agyaras – Jyesth Sud Agyaras; Swati Nakshatra;
Tula Rashi

abhashahra

ShreeNathji Haveli at Nathdwara

We were present for darshans on these two days at Nathdwara. They have been miraculous days.
On Ganga Dassera, there is a pond created before Thakurjee. Many herbal ingredients are added in this. Several lotus, fragrant flowers swim in the sacred waters. This is with the bhao that Gangaji who is considered the younger sister of Yamunaji comes to meet Shreeji. Both combine in this water to pay respects to Shreeji. Also the sewaks who cannot go till Haridwar can bathe in the Ganga here today.
The crowd is extreme today; bhakts from all villages around, as well as from far of cities are here today to participate in this sacred ritual.
Luckily, with Shreeji’s kripa, we were allowed to bathe in this pavitra (sacred) waters before the crowds came in. An unusual experience. Doing ‘dubki’ in the front of Shreeji with His Blessings flowing in the waters, granting higher purity; is an experience very difficult to describe in words. Many old sewaks are also there bathing in the waters.
I received Prasad of the lotus flowers from one of the sewaks; waited for nearly an hour before the Aarti was done.
From here we went to Navneet Priya’s mandir where a pond was also created, similar to the larger one. Here we cannot enter the waters. The entire Shringar was of lotus today.

The atmosphere in Shreeji’s Haveli and in Nathdwara town is of a huge mela.

The next day was a very auspicious day, it being Nirjala Ekadasi.
We did the three morning darshans in the regular way; though because of the extreme crowds it becomes difficult even to walk at a regular pace. It is incredible how so many bhakts are accommodated in the narrow lanes and the mandir parisar.
It was in Rajbhog Darshans that Shreeji did this unique leela. It was the senior mukhiyaji in sewa today. We stood praying and watching him complete the final Shringar for Shreeji.

abhashahra

Shreenathji
Complete Shringar Darshans

Shreeji is offered His Flute and Chadi’s in this darshan. His three lotus are also placed on His arms, around His waist. Carefully, the mukhiyaji placed the two lotus; as he tried placing the third one, Shreeji refused.
Instantly I heard Shreeji’s sweet, melodious voice in my ears, “Arrey hatao; chubta hai”. (Take it away, it hurts). In that perfect moment saw the mukhiyaji remove the third lotus away from Shreeji. It was in perfect timing as I heard Shreeji saying these words in my ears, that the mukhiyaji also followed the same instructions. Shreeji made him realize that He would not accept this lotus today. When Shreeji refuses anything the mukhiaji doing the sewa has to bow and ask for forgiveness; which he did.
Heard Shreeji’s naughty laughter again, “Dekho maine nahin liya, usko bola hatao, ha, ha, ha; main aise hi karta hun”. (See I did not accept it, told him to remove it. Ha, ha, ha, I like to play in this way). I could not believe my eyes and ears. It was sakshat Darshans. Shreeji was here with us blessing us so closely. Looked around, but no one else seemed to hear or understand. What bliss, Shreeji played this mischief to show us His Presence.

We did the Aarti, bowed and left.
On the way back realized Shreeji’s Presence with us. “Main tumhare saath chalta hun. Aaj maaza aaya, voh mukhiya ko bevakuf banaya; ha, ha, ha. Mujhe kuch nahi chubta tha. Woh tou tumko khel dikhana chahata tha. Tum hamesha boltee ho na, darshan dene ke liye, tumhe aaj dikha diya. Mukhiya ki koi galti nahin thi, voh to mera khel tha tumhare liye. Maine maasti kari, tumhe anand aaya ke nahin? Chalo yeh mera khel ‘MERI’ website par likh dena. Koi puche to bolna, ‘Shreeji ka hukum’ hai.”

(I will come with you’ll. Had a lot of fun today, I fooled the mukhiya, ha,ha, ha. Nothing was pricking me. I only wanted to show you a khel. You always keep asking for darshans, I showed you my Play today. It was my khel for you today, the mukhiya did not commit any mistake. I did some maasti, did you enjoy in this? Ok, write about My Play on ‘MY’ website. If anyone asks why, say that it is Shreeji’s hukum (order).

Shreeji goes out of His way to play this leela for granting us His Darshans. Who says that Shreeji is not Present here?
“Yeh tumhara Prasad, aaj ke liye, ab tik, tik mat karna, bahut dimaag khati hai, ki darshan karao”; Shreeji said.
(This is your Prasad for today, hence forth stop all your tik, tik (pestering), you keep eating my brains and his, for My Darshans”).

Nathdwara is located in the Rajasmand district on the banks of the river Banas in Rajasthan. The air connection is from the Udaipur airport. It is 48 km from Udaipur and is connected by road and train to all the major cities in Rajasthan as well as from all over India. It is a very small town built only for the temple of ShreeNathji. Many times people just call the town as “ShreeNathji”. All roads lead to the Haveli of Shreeji; which is central in location.

Approaching the town I always feel the strong vibrations gripping me with an excitement; Shreeji’s Presence is very welcoming; it feels as if He is present there to welcome us to His town; acting like the perfect host. As soon as I enter deeper in bhao at times I hear this divine sweet child voice inside which echos from no where, “Tum log mujhse milne aaye ho, main tumhara dhyan to raakhunga na”. (“You’ll have come to meet me, how can I not be there to make your stay Divine”). This is the sweetest voice that could be ever heard; full of loving mischief and playfullness.

Shreeji’s town wears a white washed look. There are paintings on every house and wall; it is a very typical look that the entire town of Nathdwara adorns. The roads are all very narrow and ultimately lead one to the centre square, chowk where Shreeji’s Haveli is located. To be able to reach the Haveli is only on foot, as the cars have to be left at least 1\2 km away. The narrow lanes only allow scooters.

The Haveli of Shreeji is a Palace where He lives in His Full Form. It is His Home, and all the sewaks and the true devotees know that many with the right bhao have experienced this Divine Presence. Unlike the other several mandirs scattered all over the world; this place is very sacred, as till today the entire routine since sevaral years has been followed perfectly. Shreeji’s Presence is total so all acknowledge His living Presence as Himself in this Haveli. It is not an ordinary mandir or place of worship. God Himself lives here in the most alive form. Darshans are not merely joining hands or offering prayers. It is more like Shreeji’s Divine court being held and all gather to pay their respects and offer sewa in whatever form. The most important ingredient required for Shreeji’s sewa, is bhao (total devotion) and shuddhi (purity); or else one can just tick the darshans as a visit to one more holy dham, without any reality being experienced.
ShreeNathji’s most favorite place – His Personal gaushala is situated about 3 km from His Haveli. Surrounded by hills it is a very picturesque place; with a lot of open grounds. It was planned and built with the Haveli. It houses about 2000 cows with a staff of 50 guwals to take care of them.

Many times I feel Shreeji likes to be away from His mandir, especially when gurushree is in Nathdwara; and He spends time with us at the gaushala. This I can feel at times when His sweet voice tells us about some incident at His gaushala, and how much He loves being here with His beloved Gomata, as He calls them.

Shreeji is there for granting you the highest of joy and bliss only if you can put aside the mind and join Him in total bhao shuddhi. Thakurjee is hungry only for your bhao, your prem. He stands there eight times a day; every day, to grant you His darshans. We are blind in our greed for the outer desires, so the Divine Love that flows from Shreeji at every darshan fails to catch our not very pure aura and vibrations. The shuddhi (purity)that I have learnt from my gurushree helps in this; to be able to experience the divine at every moment; especially when standing before ShreeNathji in totality.

God works in unknowing ways. To the world it is not visible why some unknown happenings take place in an instant. It can only be through Thakurjee’s leela. What at times we do not realize that it is only with His wish that so many incidents take place. They are not understood by us because God wishes to keep them secret. Here Shreeji had to move away to Mevar for the fulfillment of His commitment to His dear bhakt Ajaba; so He created the exact circumstances for His caretakers to be forced into moving Him

As later in the vartas it comes that Shreeji’s Rath stopped exactly at the spot where Gusainji had predicted years back. It was the area where the princess Ajaba Kunwari’s Haveli stood earlier; that became His final destination from Braj – Girirajji.

For greater details about our beloved ShreeNathji and Nathdwara; about darshans at Jatipura Mukharwind; about Bhao and Bhakti; About how ShreeNathji today also plays with His bhakts in the outer world; how there could be a repeat of the famous 84Vaishnavas and 252 Vaishnav Ki Varta;
