Radha Rani birth place at Rawal. It is in Mahavan at Mathura.
Rawal is the only place in the world, where Shrimati Radha is worshiped in Her Lalan swarup.
This is the sthal where Raja Vrishbhanu found Her lying in an open lotus.
“O Srinivasa see Ravala, the village where Vrishabhanu used to live happily. Shree Radha appeared here, and by Her auspicious appearance the whole world was filled with joy.”
Once King Vrishabhanu went to the Yamuna river to take bath. He saw a golden lotus flower that shone like a million suns in the middle of the river. In the middle of the lotus flower was baby Srimati Radharani. Shree Brahma appeared before King Vrishabhanu and told him that in his previous life he and his wife, Kirtida, had performed great austerities to get Her as their daughter.
King Vrishabhanu took the child home, but found her to be blind. Narad Muni appeared before the king and told him that despite the child’s blindness he should go ahead and perform all the auspicious birth ceremonies.
When baby Krishn crawled before Shree Radha, She could smell the wonderful aroma of His body, and at that moment She opened Her eyes. The first person She saw was ShreeKrishn.
Darshans of Shree Radha in Her Lalan Form. On four different days.
It is said Radha eyes weren’t open till the age of 11 months 15 days. After 11 months 15 days Shree Krishn was born. Nand Baba invited everybody to celebrate Shree Krishn’s birth. Vrishbhan, Kirti were also invited. Shree Krishn lay in the palna. At that moment ShreeRadha saw ShreeKrishn and opened her eyes.
Radha Rani is most loved by Her father Vrishabhanu Maharaja. For this reason, devotees usually refer to Her as “Vrishabhanu-nandini”
There is a small temple here called Larly-Lal. Small, but very sweet Deities of Radha and Krishn are said to be installed by Vajranabha, Shree Krishn’s great grandson.
Timing chart for darshans
The one you are watching behind the main deity is Garbhgriha i.e., Janamsthan – The location where Radha appeared. During those years Jamuna river used to flow at this location and on the banks of Jamuna Vrishbhan had a palace.
The parisar is very well maintained by the current mukhiyaji. This place is better maintained than many of the other areas in Vraj Mandal
One can climb to the roof and see dried Yamuna bed.
On the opposite side of the temple is Radharani’s garden. Radha-Krishna tree in Radharani’s garden resemble white Radha standing next to blackish Krishna.
There are ruins of old temple in Radharani’s garden.
This wall painting seems to be very ancient, depicting Shree Radha Krishn leela
There is a Karil tree within the temple area ( near Garbhgriha ) where deity of Radha ji was found by the forefathers ( Parmanand Vyas came from Jodhpur, Rajasthan ) of the current priest. The current Karil tree does not have any roots and is still green.
Just outside the mandir is this old tree. I am very impressed with the roots which maybe, spread all through the area.
Rawal is 9km (6 miles) south of Mathura, on the other side of the Yamuna River. It is about halfway between Mathura and Gokul.
Raskaan after doing yatra of Vraj visited Rawal and had darshan of Shree Radha.
Jai Shree Radhe Krishn!
