Baithakji Charitr: (बैठकजी चरित्र)

Shri Mahaprabhu Vallabhachayra stayed for three days at Maan Sarovar discussing the Shrimad Bhagavat.

Once, Damala awoke in the middle of the night and noticed that his guru was missing.

A few hours later, Shree Krishn appeared before Damala who exclaimed, “Today I am certainly blessed to have your supreme vision. “

Shree Krishn than told Damala, “Today, Shrew Radha has become very displeased with me.”

Later, Shree Radha came to meet Thakurjee and Their reuinon was re established.

Damala and Shri Mahaprabhuji had the sight of this divine pastime. All of this transpired while the other Vaishnavas were deep in sleep.

What are Pushtimarg Baithaks?

What are Pushtimarg Baithaks?

Baithaks in Pushtimarg religion are pavitr places where Shri Vallabhachary, the founder of Pushtimarg, narrated the Pavitr granth Shrimad Bhagvadji Katha.

It was almost always under the Chonkar vraksh of a Vat vraksh with an adjacent Kund. (water body)

They are total 84 in number and spread all over the country.

Mahaprabhuji had circled the whole of India three times and done sthapna of these various Baithaks.

Each Baithak has its own particular Charitr (description).

Baithaks are holy places where there is no Idol or Chitr (Picture); seva is done of Gaddi (Seating).

There are several Baithaks of Shri Vitthalnathji Gusaiji also. Many are in the same place as Shri Vallabh Achary. Other’s by themselves wherever he went and rested.

Jai ShreeNathji Prabhu 🙏

ShreeNathji Mandir on Shri Govardhan: A Panoramic view.

Darshans here are of this ShreeNathji Chavi. The original Murti is now at Nathdwara Haveli. The journey to Mewar, as desired by Thakurjee, began in 1669 AD, on Asadh Sud Punam on Friday, during the last 3 hours of the night. ShreeNathji with all His sewaks arrived in Sinhad (Nathdwara) in 1672 AD, on Falgun Vad Satam on Saturday.

Many bhakts are not able to get these darshans, as they are unable to climb up; either because of bad health, old age, or the belief that one should not give shram to Shri Girirajji by climbing on Him. Please enjoy these Darshans.

Few details about this sacred mandir:

In 1499 AD, ShreeNathji gives hukum in a dream to Puranmall Kshtri. “Come to Vraj Mandal and build a large mandir for me”. So Puranmall sold all his property and came to Shri Govardhan at Vraj. He asked the Vrajvasi the where about of Shree Dev Daman.

Puranmall was very happy to do the darshans, after which he meets Shri Vallabh Acharya and narrates the dream. “I have sold everything that I possessed and come here with all my wealth to build the mandir as per Shreeji’s hukum”.

Shri Maha Prabhuji grants permission for building. Purnmall then requests Shri Giiriraj that there will be a lot of disturbance in building the mandir, I need your permission. Giriraj Govardhan says, “ShreeNathji will live in my heart, so all the digging work etc will not cause any parishram to me, please go ahead and start the work”.

7

The mandir foundation was laid in the year 1499 AD, Vaishak Sud 3, in Rohini Nakshatra.

5a

All of Puranmall’s wealth was soon exhausted. He went south again to work and earn money so that the mandir could be completed. Shreeji refused to accept this sewa from any other bhakt and waited for 20 years, till Puranmall could complete the mandir!

Till then Shreeji stayed in a small mandir. These 20 years, Ramdas Chauvan Rajput did the sewa. Thus from 1488 AD till 1519 AD, Shreeji did His Leela from this small mandir.

10

The architect Hiramani lived in Agra. As per hukum in his dream, he came to Vraj and met Shri Vallabh Acharya. Shri Vallabh Acharya gave him the permission and instructed him to start drawing the plan on paper. He drew the plan of a mandir without a shikhar. But as soon as he finished drawing the plan it would change to a drawing of a mandir with a shikhar. This happened three times, so Shri Maha Prabhuji understood that it was Shreeji’s desire to stay in a mandir with a shikhar.

14

He tells Damodardas, “Since ShreeNathji wishes to stay in a mandir with a shikhar, it means He will stay in Shri Govardhan for many years. Then there will be attack by the Mughals, after which Shreeji will move to some other part of the country. He will stay here also for several years, after which He will move back to Vraj.

New mandir Paat Utsav

Once this new mandir was ready, Shre Maha Prabhuji reached Vraj after completing parikrama of the country. Shreeji was established in His new mandir in 1519 AD; Vaishak Sud Teej; on Akha Teej. This day is also called the Paat Utsav of ShreeNathji.

12

This is the ancient mandir built by Shri Puranmall. It has been restored twice since.

Shri Vallabhacharya was born in the VS 1535 or AD1478.

195720_133892418783_5790184_n

It was on Vaishak Vad Giyaras (11th) in Vikram Samvat 1535, or AD 1478; in Satbhisha Nakshatra on a Thursday; during the Abhijit mahurat, 12.40-1.00 in the afternoon; when ShreeNathji’s Lotus Face Appeared from Govardhan to give His divya Darshan to the lucky people of the village; According to Shree Krishn’s desire, on the same day but in the Abhijit mahurat, 12.40-1.00 at night, Shree Vallabhacharya also appeared at Champaran in a ring of fire.

8th Baithakji at BahulaVan

bahulavan-ki-bethak-250x250

(This detail of the original varta about this Baithakji is taken from website: http://www.vallabhkankroli.org/)

At Bahulavan, Shri Mahaprabhuji stayed three days giving discourses on the Srimad Bagavatam

This is the fourth Van of the Vraj area, in the village of Bathi.

Krishn Kund is also located here

Here there are temples of Bahulabihariji and Bahula cow.

A story of Bahula cow can be found in Padma Puran:

Once Dharmaraja, in the form of a lion, visited this jungle to kill cows. All the cows except Bahula had escaped at the sight of this lion. Lion wanted to kill Bahula. She requested him to wait till she can go and feed her child. She promised him to return after that. She did return. Impressed with her honesty and truthfulness, lion revealed his true identity of Dharmaraja. When the cow died the people of this village started worshipping her by installing a stone statue of this cow.

The Muslim King of this area prohibited them from worshipping this cow. The king proclaimed that worship could only be commenced when the cow would actually eat grass. During his visit to this place, Shri Mahaprabhuji was informed about this prohibition. Shri Mahaprabhuji invited the king and showed to him the stone Bahula cow partaking of the offered grass. The king was amazed and became disciple of Shri Mahaprabhuji. In his next life this king was born as Meha Dhemar.

Amongst the Vraj’s 12 ‘ Vans’, this ‘ Van’ ranks fourth. Under the tree of ‘ Vadh’, this Baithakji is situated. Also beside it a cow named ‘ Bahula’ rests.

In this Baithakji, Vraj’s Muslim Suba was shown an astonishing miracle by Shri Mahaprabhuji.

4th BAITHAK AT BANSHIVAT-VRINDAVAN

Bethakji - 4

(This detail of the original varta about this Baithakji is taken from website: http://www.vallabhkankroli.org/)

At Vrindavan, Prabhdas Jalota would not take the prasad offered to him because he had not taken the bath. Mahaprabhuji recited him the shloka which said,” In Vrindavan, Lord Krishna plays His flute under every tree and resides in His four-armed form within every leaf. In such a sacred land the dust is purifying.” Hearing this description, Prabhudas partook the prasad before taking his bath.

Gopaldas, a disciple of Krishna Chaitanyahad had a Deity of Shaligram. He desired a Deity which he could decorate with clothes and jewels. Shri Krishnachaitanya told him in dream, “ I do not have the right to give you one, and only Shri Mahaprabhuji has that right. When Mahaprabhuji arrived in Vrindavan, Gopaldas prayed to Him for deity. Shri Mahaprabhuji told him, “ If your sentiment is pure, then the Shaligram will be transformed into image of Lord Krishna. Lord Himself will accommodate everything. In the morning you will see the Shaligram being transformed.”  The following morning his Shaligram became transformed into the swaroop of Radha Ramanj. This was due to the grace of Mahaprabhuji!

In his next birth, Gopaldas became a renowned devotee of Pushti Marg, Gopal Naga.
